Not specified in the itinerary i.e. lunch
Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be greeted by your driver and transferred to your hotel in Casablanca.
If all travelers arrive before 3:00 PM, there will be an opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Casablanca the same day.
Enjoy your evening at leisure and an overnight stay in Casablanca, including breakfast.
Pickup is scheduled for 8:30 AM to begin your guided tour of Casablanca — Morocco’s largest city, commercial hub, and home to one of Africa’s busiest ports.
Your visit includes a stop in the elegant Anfa district and a leisurely stroll along Ain Diab’s famous Boulevard de la Corniche, a scenic Atlantic boardwalk lined with cafes and seaside restaurants.
You’ll also visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque — the largest religious monument in the Muslim world outside of Mecca — before continuing your journey to the city of Fes via the highway.
Fez, the cultural capital, is one of the most complete medieval Islamic cities in the world. Passing through the gates and walls into the alleyways beyond transports you back in time. The streets are just as they were when they were built in the 8th century, with high walls that protect the courtyards inside from the heat of the midday sun. Enormous theosophical colleges, beautiful mosques and fascinating souks spilling their goods onto the pavement are all part of the scene. You will have a walking tour to some of the major points of interest as well as some free time to wander. You’ll visit the Place an-Nejjarine, where an ancient caravanserai overlooks a fountain; wander outside the great Qayrawan mosque, passing 14th century merchant's shops; or head to the tanneries - where leather is stained in vats of strikingly colored dyes. In the souk al- Attarine the scent of exotic spices fills the air and close by a hammam, or traditional bathhouse, steams away the stresses of life.
After breakfast pick up from your hotel At 7am then transfer to Chefchaouen (the blue town). appx 3h30 each way
With its distinctive pale blue and whitewashed buildings and winding alleyways, Chefchaouen is a charming place with strong Andalusian connections. It was here that many Jews and Moors fled during the Spanish Inquisition. Highlights of our day include a short hike to the ruin of the "Spanish" mosque with its fantastic panoramic view; a visit to the Ras el-Ma, where the city's fresh water springs from the mountain; and a stroll through the wonderfully restored kasbah and gardens. Expect back to fes around 6pm.
Pick up at 7h30am Pick up Early in the morning departure from Fes heading to the Middle Atlas Mountains. The wilderness you cross is incredibly diverse and can vary from rocky, sun baked plains, to cedar – clad mountains to deep canyons. In the hills of Azrou you may spot a troop of Barbary Apes. Then we slowly descend into the scenic Ziz valley passing palm groves and green oasis. Yet, again the scenery will be changing into the sandy plains and approaching Merzouga we will see the first sand dunes from the road. The great "sand sea" of Merzouga, a beautiful area of fine, apricot - colored sand that stretches as far as the eye can see.Pick up 4WD cars from the town of Merzouga then take the 30 minutes off-road to the luxury camp . You can ride or walk alongside as you slip into the pace of the caravan led by Berber guides and marvel at the awesome spectacle of the desert and the solitude and silence that comes with it. ( D.L)Night in Desert Luxury Camp in a tent with a private ensuite bathroom with Breakfast and dinner
Pick up by 4WD back to the bus at Merzouga . Our stop today is at Khamlia village . The Gnawa / Gnaoua Village in the SaharaWho is Gnawa? For centuries black Africans from the Gnawa tribe, originating from sub-Saharan countries such as The Sudan, Mali and Niger, were forcibly moved from their homelands across the Sahara to Morocco as part of the worldwide slave trade. Shackled in chains as they crossed the desert, they sang to soothe and found a mindfulness in the rhythmic chanting and clanking of the chains.Today there is a small village in the Moroccan Sahara whose inhabitants are direct descendants of these slaves and this is the story of Khamlia Village. Then we will continue the journey to the draa valley . Overnight in Kasbah hnini with breakfast Kasbah hnini
Pick up at 8h30 am Morning departure to Ouarzazate and to Ait Ben haddou. This is probably the best-preserved fortified Kasbah in the country. With its dramatic walls of red earth, slit windows and crumbling towers, it is a magnificent example of a traditional stronghold. Chosen as a location for Hollywood films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Jewel in the Nile, and more recently Gladiator, Ait Ben Haddou sits upon a lofty pinnacle of rock overlooking a river. Dating from around the 15th century, its importance as a trading post gradually waned, and today's inhabitants make a living from farming... and as film extras!. Then we set onto the dramatic drive of Tizi and Tichka that will take us to Marrakech opening the landscapes to some breathtaking views of many Berber villages, snow capped mountains and green valleys. Overnight in Marrakech with Breakfast Alfassia
Pick up at 09.30 am and head towards the Djema El Fna square from where we take on foot exploring the old town (medina). There are no cars allowed in this part of the city. We will visit the highly decorated tombs of the royal family of Saadian, the majestic ruins of the Baddi palace built by Ahmed El Mansour using the most precious materials such as onyx, gold and marble traded for the weight of sugar and Bahia Palace. We will walk along the Jewish market. Then also visit the outside of Koutoubia mosque the dominant mosque of Marrakech and its minaret that watches over Marrakech for mover then 800 years after the city tour of the Medina drive to visit the beautiful majorelle garden .Visit points : -La koutoubia mosque- Bahia palace- Jemaa El Fenna- Souks ( market ) Overnight in Marrakech with Breakfast Alfassia
Enjoy free time to explore the vibrant city of Marrakech at your own pace, or choose to join one of the exciting optional experiences — such as a breathtaking hot air balloon ride or an authentic Moroccan cooking class.
As much as we’d love to stay longer, our unforgettable MorocCocoa Tour with TheTravelJunkees has come to an end.
